Now your TomatoCart installation is complete we now need to do some work on the shop before going public.
If you take a look at your shops front end it will be populated with sample products that we really don't need, but for learning purposes are very useful.
This is great for us but useless to the public, so the first thing we will do is turn the shop off.
We will still be able to login to the front end and view our shop but the public won't.
So go to the administration back-end of your shop and login. The URL will be http://www.yourdomain.com/admin/
This is one of the great things about TomatoCart it acts just like a desktop. The Dashboard will be displayed, we can close that just like a windows program.
Now click on the Start button in the bottom left corner. Go to Configuration>>Configuration>>My Store
A window will open with the details you entered when installing the shopping cart.
Scroll down until you see Maintenance mode.
Then click on the Value side of the box and a drop down menu will appear. Change this to True
After changing the value to true just click anywhere outside the box and a little notification will appear in the bottom right corner.
Now our shop is switched off, you can check this by going to your front end and seeing the result.
Use your admin login credentials to log into the front end of the shop. look at the top right and you will see you are logged in as Administrator.
Now your shop-front is offline and only you will be able to see the changes you make untill your shop is ready to be displayed to the world.
